OUTRIDGES PATENT Rotary Steam Launch Engine
This is an extremely rare, vane type reversable steam engine of around 4 – 5 H.P. believed made to Outridges patent in the mid 1880’s.
Designed for small, high speed river launches, these rotaty engines were claimed to provide an excellent power to weight ratio and to achieve the then unheard of speed of 12 1/4 m.p.h!
