A small marine engine probably designed for coastal craft and built for the US Navy.
5 3/4″ + 12″ x 8″ compound cylinders.
“Type M”
Engine No. 1546 – built 1918.
With brass lagging. Some loose components as shown.
Appears to be in nice original condition.

An unusual and elegant 5-10 H.P. twin cylinder marine engine. Built c1910, no makers plate but in good overall condition.
Single Cylinder Steam Launch Engine
This single cylinder reversable marine engine has a handsome cast iron backstand frame and is fitted with Stephenson type link reversing gear. Piston valve and suitable for a steam launch of around 20 – 35 Ft Length.
