RANSOMES 2½ NHP Portable Steam Engine

This very attractive small portable by Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies is of the desirable 2½ NHP size, making it easily transportable. A later example, this unusual engine was built along Ruston Hornsby lines (Ruston worked together with Ransomes as fellow members of the A.E.G.). Originally exported to South Africa where it spent it’s working life, this engine is complete with a rear wheel brake (not fitted) and Pickering governor.
Carefully restored to a very high standard to the last few years, this engine is now well presented and includes small details such as a chimney lever bar and chains, etc.

An ex-Admiralty (Royal Navy) dockyard boiler, built by Marshall & Sons Ltd, Gainsborough c1940.
Used for engine running and other testing purposes at a Royal Navy dockyard, this high output steam boiler is of riveted construction and sits on Marshall’s sprung type wheels. For sale with most fittings including safety valve and gauge glass frames, etc.
Believed in reasonable, usable condition.
