An exceptional, beautifully made miniature of the very pretty H.M customs cruiser “Vigilant”. The full size vessel is the sole surviving example of a steam customs cutter, built in 1911 for Cox & Company, Falmouth, for the Commissioners of H.M. Customs. A chassis and running gear of some vintage, for a tender locomotive.
This miniature has inside cylinders and is thought to be either an LBSC ‘Drummond T9’ or scaled down ‘Maid of Kent’ ?
Appears to be very well made and a good starting point for a project.
