Six Column Beam Engine
An exhibition quality miniature beam engine dating from the late 19th Century.
This very handsome engine features an elaborate cast iron bed and 6 Roman Doric columns supporting the top frame.
Carefully cleaned and restored in recent years.
British Engineering & Electrical Company I.C. Workshop Engine
A water cooled example of an open crank I.C. engine, made c1904 by the British Engineering and Electrical Company of Leek, Staffs.
Approx 1/3 HP
With later chain driven magneto (replacing the hot tube ignition), and fitted with twin S-spoked flywheels.
Mounted on a 2 wheel trolley inscibed “B E & E”.
A rare survivor.
Victorian Stationary Steam Plant
A nicely made all brass horizontal steam engine and spirit fired vertical boiler, built c1880’s.
All mounted on a polished timber baseplate with brass handles.
COCHRAN & Co. Miniature Cutaway Steam Boiler
A genuine salesmans model, this is a half-cutaway miniature dome topped rivetted steel steam boiler by Cochran & Co. of Annan, Scotland.
1 1/2″ scale miniature of a 7Ft diameter boiler.
Cutaway boiler demonstrates the workings of the Cochran cross-tube vertical boiler, including coal firing firebox, fire-tubes and smokebox, and all the typical Cochran features of full size boilers including external firebox and mud hole doors.
Mounted on a wooden display base with Cochran makers plate.
6 Inch Scale BURRELL Steam Wagon
This miniature is based on the first design of Burrell undertype steam wagon built in 1901. With vertical boiler and enclosed compound engine, driving the rear axle via 2 speed transmission.
