A high quality, model engineer built steam launch engine with Stephenson Link reversing gear, on cast back standards and turned front columns. For sale complete with copper inlet and exhaust manifolds, plus mechanical lubricator.

2½” x 2½” Cylinder.
Approx 30″ High.
Unused engine built to a high standard and in excellent condition.
Three bearing crankshaft with enlarged bewaring areas. Stephenson link reverse gear. Connecting rod is bored to provide oil reservoir for big end. Positive displacement pump for steam oil supply.

OUTRIDGES PATENT Rotary Steam Launch Engine
This is an extremely rare, vane type reversable steam engine of around 4 – 5 H.P. believed made to Outridges patent in the mid 1880’s.
Designed for small, high speed river launches, these rotaty engines were claimed to provide an excellent power to weight ratio and to achieve the then unheard of speed of 12 1/4 m.p.h!
