A very attractive workshop engine built c1860. Single cylinder overhead crank (true vertical) on ornate four pillar pedimented frame. Complete with Watt type governor, S-spoke flywheel and fittings. In good, restored condition.

Complete with attached pump.

A small Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies inverted vertical steam engine, c1900. Complete with twin flywheels, governor and other fittings and available for sale in good condition.
1827 ALMOND Grasshopper Beam Engine
This very rare and early small ‘grasshopper’ type beam engine is believed to have been constructed by J.P. Almond of North Shields in 1827.
The engine was acquired in the 1870’s by Day & Co., Southampton, and fitted to a slipway winching system at Cowes, I.O.W. where it ran until the mid 1990’s (on compressed air), making it the last working grasshopper engine in the world?
