LOBNITZ Triple Expansion Marine Engine
A large and impressive triple expansion steam engine by Lobnitz of Paisley, Scotland. built in 1957 and possibly one of the very last reciprocating marine engines made in the UK.
Approx. 1,000 H.P. with cylinders 13″ + 22″ + 34″ x 22″ stroke. This engine is 15 Ft long x 6 Ft wide x 12 Ft high, est weight around 20 tonnes.
J.I. THORNYCROFT Compound Marine Engine
7″ + 10″ x 8″ Cylinders
A very special and handsome compound marine engine, built 1878 by J.I.THORNYCROFT & Co. of Chiswick. ex. river steamer “Beatrice”, originally fitted to torpedo boat TB53. (A sister engine powered the torpedo boat HMS “Mosquito”.)
This exceptionally finely made engine is on turned columns with slide valves on HP and LP cylinders, with attached feed pump.
